Before you start

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, click Workflows under Rolly. A workflow whose last run failed says "failed" in red under its name.

  2. Click the Runs tab, then click the run marked Failed. You can also click Open the run in the email that says your workflow "could not finish".

  3. Find the step marked Failed. The red text under it says what went wrong, such as "Nothing was published in the last 7 days, so there is nothing to report on yet."

  4. Click the Workflows tab, then click your workflow.

  5. Click the step that failed and fix it, using the list below.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click Run now to try it again. Open the Runs tab to check your new run says Done.

What the red message on your run means

"Nothing was published in the last 7 days, so there is nothing to report on yet." The Client report step had no posts to report on in its Period, here the last 7 days. Pick a longer Period in the step, or publish a post first.

"No valid recipients: every address was empty, revoked or malformed." Nobody in the email step could get the email. Your client's access to the brand may have been removed, or an address has a typo. Open the step and tick your client again, or fix the address.

"The email provider rejected every recipient." Every address in the email step bounced. Check each address for typos.

"The run stopped making progress and was abandoned. Run it again." The run got stuck for over two hours. Click Run now to start it again.

"The run no longer matches its workflow definition." You added or removed steps while the run was waiting for approval. Click Run now to start a new run with your changes.

"Nobody approved the waiting step within 7 days, so the run stopped." The run shows Expired. Nothing is broken, so click Run now when you're ready. To make it easier to answer next time, add more people under Who can approve steps in your workflow's Details.

"Stopped at" a step "by a reviewer." Someone on your team clicked Reject, and the run shows Rejected. Ask them what to change before you run it again.

If your workflow didn't run at all, it's likely one of these reasons

Your workflow is turned off or still a draft. A schedule or trigger only starts a workflow that's Live. Open it and click Turn on. Run now works either way.

"You have used your monthly AI allowance for November 2026." A workflow with a Client report or Ask Rolly step can't start until your workspace has AI allowance again. Run now shows this message. For a run on a schedule or trigger, you get a notice that your workflow "didn't run", with an Open the workflow button. Check how much of your AI allowance is left shows how to buy more.

"This workspace has used all its workflow runs for November 2026. They start again next month." Your workspace used every workflow run your plan includes this month. Your workflows start again on the first of next month.

"Rolly is not available right now, so this workflow cannot run. Try again later." Rolly is down on our side. Try Run now again later.

Your trigger is waiting for one status. With A post changes status, a workflow set to one status under Only when a post moves to only starts when a post moves to that status.

The next run isn't due yet. On the Workflows tab, a live workflow on a schedule says when it runs next, such as "next in 3 days".
