Before you start

Steps

  1. On the Clients page, click Fields. Client fields belong to the whole workspace, so every client gets them.

  2. Click Add field.

  3. Type a Field name, then pick a Type: Text, Number, Date, Single select, Multi select or URL.

  4. For Single select or Multi select, type each option under Options. Add option gives you another row.

  5. Click Add field. The field appears on every client record and can be shown as a column in the list.

  6. Close the panel and open a client from the board.

  7. In the Fields card, click the pencil.

  8. Every client field is listed here. Pick or type a value for this client.

  9. Click Save. The value shows in the Fields card, and a field with no value says Empty.

  10. To compare clients by a field, go to Clients, open the List tab and click Columns.

  11. Tick the field to show it as a column. The list remembers your columns in this browser.

  12. The field now has its own column. Click Fields next to the filters to filter the list by a field's value.

Field types

A field can be Text, Number, Date, Single select, Multi select or URL. A number field can show as a plain number, a percent or a currency, and a currency field uses each client's own currency.

Limits and housekeeping

A workspace can have up to 50 client fields. Archiving a field hides it and keeps every value, and only the workspace owner can delete one.

From a CSV

When you import clients, New field from this column turns a column of your file into a client field in one go.
