# Create your first brand

A brand holds one client's social accounts, posts and calendar, so start each client with one.

## Steps

1. Click the brand name at the top of the sidebar to open the brand switcher.

2. Click **Add brand** at the bottom of the list. Only the workspace owner and admins see this option.

3. Under **Brand name**, type the name as the client writes it. This is the only field you have to fill in.

4. Under **One-liner**, describe what the brand does in a sentence. It shows under the brand's name in the sidebar.

5. Check the **Time zone**. It starts as your own, and every post you schedule for this brand publishes on this clock, so change it if the client is somewhere else.

6. Pick a **Brand color**. It marks the brand in the switcher and on your workspace home.

7. Click **Create brand**. The new brand opens on its dashboard. **Create & add knowledge** does the same and then opens the Knowledge base, where you describe the brand's voice and audience.

8. **Your first steps** on the dashboard lists what is left to set up, such as connecting your accounts, and marks each step done as you finish it.

### Plan limits

The Free plan holds one brand with up to four social profiles across it. Essential, Pro and Max have no limit on brands or profiles.

### Who can add brands

Only the workspace owner and admins see **Add brand**. Editors and viewers work in the brands they are given.

### Changing it later

The name, one-liner, time zone and colour can all be changed in **Brand settings**, which you reach from your menu at the bottom of the sidebar. You can also add a brand from **Home**, with **Add brand** above the list of brands.
